SENIORS

CHIROPRACTIC AND SENIORS

“Senior citizens who receive chiropractic care report better overall health, fewer chronic conditions, less days in hospitals  and nursing homes, and greater mobility than elderly non-chiropractic patients.” — Rand Study

Over the past 25 years, our practice has evolved from a clinic that focused primarily on the care of children and young  families, to a practice that helps “children of all ages.” We absolutely love taking care of the spines of all our “keen-agers.”  Seniors are an extremely special part of our family practice.

Often overlooked, seniors are an integral part of family dynamics. Due to chronic pain and on-going bodily dysfunction,  many seniors are falling through the cracks of the modern health care system. Scott Family Chiropractic is proud to offer  safe, gentle, and effective chiropractic care for seniors to help them enjoy their golden years.

Care of seniors requires an individualized approach that honours the need for gentle, restorative care. We realize  everyone has a unique story, a unique set of challenges and goals, and will require a program of care that is tailored to  match these challenges and goals. One of our primary goals with each and every senior in our practice is to ensure that  they are able to move, function, and heal as optimally as possible. Years of damage to the spine, joints, and nervous  system is by far the most significant challenge faced by seniors who want to maintain independence.

At Scott Family Chiropractic, we utilize a holistic approach to health care and to pain relief. Our clinic ensures that each  new patient who comes into our clinic undergoes a thorough health history, a detailed spinal examination, a nervous  system evaluation, and any other necessary diagnostic testing, prior to beginning chiropractic care with us. From there,  we will determine what areas of the spine and nervous system have been impacted over the years, and an individualized recommendation will be made for each senior to help them work towards their health goals.
Safe and gentle chiropractic care, combined with healthy lifestyle habits, are a very important aspect of helping seniors  experience maximal enjoyment and independence during their retirement. Regardless of age or condition, one is never  “too old” for chiropractic care.
